About Artist

Roopa Revathi is a professional singer based out of Kochi, Kerala. She is a versatile singer with a melodious voice and has proven her caliber in both Carnatic and filmy music. She started learning Carnatic music at the age of five, under the tutelage of Dr Malini Hariharan and Tamarakkadu Govindan Namboothiri. Now, she is getting trained under Sri P Unnikrishnan. Besides vocals, she also plays the violin, which she started learning at seven years of age, under the tutelage of Sri TH Subrahmaniyam. Currently, she takes advanced lessons from Sri Kalaimamani Embar Kannan. She bagged the first position in classical vocals and violin in the Kerala State Level Youth Festival consecutively for five years (2001–2005). Roopa has won the prestigious Augustine Joseph Memorial Award for the 'best Carnatic singer' in Kerala level. She also won the Superstar Global 2007–08 aired by Amritha Television. She started her playback singing career in Malayalam through 'Ente Sharike', a song from the movie, Madambi.
