Calcutta Blues is a five-piece LIVE Band, founded in 2005 in Kolkata. Then, the band properly reformed in 2008, with an intention to spread soulful music amongst the young generation of the city. Initially, they faced lot of trouble. But, with their hard work and strong determination, within a very short span of time, they developed their rank in the field of Bangla bands. From the band's lineup, Iman Sen and Ashok Roy, have already participated in the MTV Rock On! They played the song 'Rajkanya' which was a super hit during their auditions. The song 'Smriti', which portrayed the beautiful memories of college life, became almost a theme song of the college students. They have already gained popularity among young generation all over India. Since inception they have appeared on major TV channels like MTV India and Tara Music. They are now performing at major music festivals and college festivals held across India. The band released its debut album, Rajkanya, in 2012 and became the best selling album all over India.
